We now offer our clients a Sage Consultancy service covering primarily Sage Accounts and Payroll. We provide this service to our clients in three different ways:
Initial installation & design
When a client purchases Sage for the first time, they might not have the experience to setup and tailor the software to best meet their businesses needs. We have seen many examples of businesses wishing they could change the design a year or two after they have been using Sage, but don’t have the time to start all over again.
We consult with owners, work with the bookkeepers and not only establish what is required now, but what also might be required in the future. We also help build systems and controls so that duties can be segregated and other staff within the business can cover sickness and holidays.
Taking advantage of new features
Sage software is continually evolving with new features being introduced each year. Some businesses are looking to take advantage of these new features, such as integration with online banking, Einvoicing and electronic submission of Vat returns, however do not have the skills or experience to introduce and implement them.
We visit clients to assess precisely how they are using the software and what they want to get from it after the Consultancy work. We then work with the bookkeeper to implement the new features and provide training and support where appropriate.
Resolving problems
Problems with Sage can develop for a range of different reasons. Some of these include:
- Business expanding into new areas – departmental accounts required
- Business trading outwith UK – EC sales lists required
- Business trading in foreign currency – exchange rate gains calculations required
- Debtors or creditors not squaring to nominal ledger – incorrect journal postings
- Debtors have been factored – new control accounts required
- Stock not being correctly maintained
- Difficulty in finding long term Sage qualified bookkeepers
This is not an exhaustive list and many businesses will have a range of issues varying in the degree of their complexity.
We visit clients to provide an initial assessment of what precisely the problems are, how these can be fixed, how long this will take and provide a quote for this work.
Prices
Prices for Consultancy work start at £300 + Vat for a half day visit and £550 + Vat for a full days visit. This also includes an element of phone support post visit to ensure a smooth implementation and assist with any problems.
